DEVELOPING: Another New Japan Card Change

New Japan has just announced another last-minute change for today’s event in a couple hours-Jado is now off the event. Fever. Tested negative for coronavirus but will be kept out as a precaution. He was to have teamed with Ryusuke Taguchi to face Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI. Aaron Henare & Great-O-Khan are the replacements and Taguchi is now off. Probably just took LIJ from win to near-squash loss.

Pro Wrestling NOAH 7/2/22 Results

Pro Wrestling NOAH continued the SUNNY VOYAGE 2022 Tour, this being a rare tour that stretches out over two consecutive months, with the next of a handful of house shows building up the next blowout event in 2 weeks. Today also possibly marked the major promotions’ return to Fukushima after the major earthquake a few months ago that caused some damage in areas affected by the catastrophic 9.1 earthquake near Fukushima in March 2011.

Today’s event was held at Big Palette Fukushima in Fukushima and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Tuesday at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET. There was no live broadcast.

In addition to Go Shiozaki being a late removal from the event (potential coronavirus close contact), it was revealed on the results page that Shuhei Taniguchi was also a last-minute removal from the event. Heat stroke.

The announced paid attendance was 318.

Match 1: Manabu Soya vs. Daiki Inaba went to a 15 minute time limit draw.

Match 2: Super Crazy beat Alejandro.

Match 3: HAYATA & Yuya Susumu beat Seiki Yoshioka & Kai Fujimura. Susumu beat Fujimura with a crossface.

Match 5: Takashi Sugiura, Hideki Suzuki & NOSAWA Rongai beat Mohammed Yone, Simon Gotch & Kinya Okada. Suzuki pinned Okada with a double arm suplex.

Match 6: Yoshinari Ogawa beat Kotaro Suzuki by DQ. Outside interference.

Main Event: Satoshi Kojima, Kaito Kiyomiya, Atsushi Kotoge, YO-HEY & Extreme Tiger beat Kenoh, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Tadasuke, Hajime Ohara & Hi69. Kojima pinned Ohara after a Western lariat.

The next event is tomorrow at Yamagata Big Wing in Yamagata. Both Shiozaki and Taniguchi will miss this event as well. The event will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Wednesday at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET. There will be no live broadcast.

NOAH News: No Go Today

Just a few hours before their next event, Pro Wrestling NOAH announced a late No Go…Go Shiozaki is now off today’s event and possibly more. Potential coronavirus close contact. He was removed as a precaution. Several matches were changed and his status for the next event tomorrow (7/3) is uncertain (but a pre-event autograph session is off and he will be replaced there). After tomorrow the promotion is off for a week so at worst he may miss one more event but should be good for the next major event on 7/16.

Impact Wrestling Against All Odds Quick Results (7/1/22)

Here are quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling Against All Odds PPV (I planned to do live results due to being in Covid isolation, but my isolation and teleworking ended early so I would not have made it home in time to watch the first part live):

Chelsea Green & Deonna Purrazzo beat Mickie James & Mia Yim.

AEW Rampage 7/1/22 Results (SPOILERS!)

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Rampage (West coast warning-SPOILERS!):

Brody King won a 2-ring, 20-man battle royal, last eliminating Darby Allin. As a result, King will face Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley for the title on next week’s Dynamite.

The Young Bucks beat Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI. Nick Jackson pinned YOSHI-HASHI after Meltzer Driver. Had Goto & YOSHI-HASHI won, they would have gotten a rematch for the AEW Tag Team Championship.

Toni Storm beat Nyla Rose.

Next week on Dynamite-The Butcher & The Blade vs. Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland, AEW TNT Champion Scorpio Sky vs. Wardlow in a street fight for the title, AEW Interim World Champion Jon Moxley vs. Brody King for the title, Thunder Rosa & Toni Storm vs. Nyla Rose & Marina Shafir, Christian Cage & Luchasaurus appearance.

Next week on Rampage-Lee Moriarty & Jonathan Gresham vs. Gates Of Agony, who are two of Tully Blanchard’s new group members.

New Japan News: Bumpy End of New Japan Road

Ouch…New Japan announced today that FOUR wrestlers are out of the rest of the New Japan Road Tour that wraps up over the next week: Alex Coughlin, Yoh, DOUKI and Yuto Nakashima. Here’s why:
Coughlin-left calf injury.
Yoh-coronavirus.
DOUKI-coronavirus close contact (precautionary isolation).
Nakashima-left elbow injury.
Yoh can return on 7/5 so the NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Championship match he is part of that day is on as planned. The rest are out indefinitely, but with the G1 CLIMAX next they may not see much action anyway. The one I really feel bad for is Nakashima, as a similar injury in his debut match last year kept him out for a long time.
As far as replacements in their scheduled matches go, Yuji Nagata will replace Coughlin, TBA will replace Nakashima, TAKA Michinoku will replace DOUKI, while planned 8-man tag matches with Yoh involved will see both Yoh & Sho removed to make them 6-man tags.

AEW Dynamite 6/30/22 Results

Here are the quick results from last night’s AEW Dynamite in Detroit:
Orange Cassidy beat Ethan Page.

Danhausen, TBA & TBA beat Gunn Club & Max Caster. TBA, which was Danhausen’s choice, turned out to be FTR.

AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill beat Leila Grey to retain the title. Squash.

BLOOD & GUTS: Blackpool Combat Club beat Jericho Appreciation Society by submission. Claudio Castagnoli beat Matt Menard with a Boston Crab as Eddie Kingston was trying to make Chris Jericho tap.

Tomorrow on Rampage: A 20-man 2-ring battle royal for an Interim AEW World Title shot, Nyla Rose vs. Toni Storm and The Young Bucks vs. YOSHI-HASHI & Hirooki Goto (New Japan Pro Wrestling). The New Japan duo may get a rematch for the AEW Tag Team Championship if they win.
