All-Japan continued the Champions Carnival today in Hiroshima.

Today’s event was held at Hiroshima Sangyo Kaikan in Hiroshima and will be available on demand on AJPW.TV tonight at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET. There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 785.

Match 1: Rey Paloma, Takashi Yoshida (Dragon Gate), Aigle Blanc & Xyon beat Atsuki Aoyagi, Dan Tamura, Ryo Inoue & Tsuyoshi Okada. Yoshida pinned Inoue after Pineapple Bomber.

Ganbare Pro 4/11/25 Results

Marking one year since they became independent by breaking away from DDT and CyberFight Corporation, Ganbare Pro ran their biggest event since yesterday in Tokyo, which might be their biggest event of the year and was also the promotion’s 12th Anniversary event.

Yesterday’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Thursday. There was no live broadcast.

The paid attendance has not yet been announced. These results are courtesy of Japanese website Tokyo Headline Web.

Match 1: Yasu Urano, PSYCHO & Bunny Oikawa beat Hartley Jackson, Daisuke & HARUKAZE. Urano pinned HARUKAZE.

Match 2: Hikaru Sato & Tyson Maeguchi beat Toru Sugiura & Munetatsu Nakamura. Sato beat Nakamura with an armbar.

Match 3: Mizuki Watase Return Match: Mizuki Watase, Shigehiro Irie, Chou-un Shiryu & Rekka beat Koki Iwasaki, Takuya Wada, Fuminori Abe & Shodai Kawakami. Watase pinned Kawakami after Venetian.

Match 4: Yuna Manase, Hazuki & Koguma (Stardom) beat Moeka Haruhi, YuuRI & Ami Manase. Yuna Manase pinned Ami Manase after a lariat. Ami is Yuna’s real-life younger sister.

Match 5: Masaaki Mochizuki (Dragon Gate) beat Ken Ohka.

Match 6: Yuji Nagata (New Japan) & Tatsuhito Takaiwa beat Shuichiro Katsumura & Keisuke Ishii. Nagata pinned Katsumura with a backdrop hold.

Main Event: Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Champion Tumehito Imanari beat Shinichiro Tominaga to retain the title. V4 for Imanari.

The next event is 5/5 at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama. It will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date.

It was announced after the event they will next run Korakuen on 8/26, which will be a Mizuki Watase 10th Anniversary event which will feature Watase vs. Jun Kasai in a Fluorescent Lighttube Death Match, and also that former Ganbare wrestler Yoshiko Hasegawa, currently with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, will make a final appearance in the promotion on 6/22 before she retires in July.

Dragon Gate Pro Wrestling 4/13/25 LIVE Results (1st Event) (Updated)

Dragon Gate runs a same-day doubleheader in Fukuoka today, which will feature the start of a tournament to crown a new Open The Brave Gate Champion. This comes after YAMATO vacated the title following his first successful defense last week against Daiki Yanagiuchi, it was never revealed why but most likely is due to YAMATO also holding the Open The Dream Gate Championship. The tournament is an 8-man single-elimination tournament with both events today having one quarterfinal match. Those participating are not headed to the US for next week’s events and will compete in Japan events happening at the same time. The Semifinals will be held on 4/26 then the Finals will crown a new champion at DEAD OR ALIVE 2025 on 5/5.

Today’s events will be held at Acros Fukuoka in Fukuoka and can be watched LIVE on DRAGONGATE NETWORK. There will be no commentary but there also will be an alternate broadcast with wrestler commentary in Japanese. The results posted here will be for the first event. There are 6 matches scheduled and with not much time between event start times this first event almost certainly won’t go longer than 2 hours. Tokyo Joshi Pro 4/13/25 LIVE Results (Updated)

Before they head to the US for The Collective along with DDT and others, Tokyo Joshi Pro holds a special WRESTLE UNIVERSE Members Only event today, with admission limited to members of WRESTLE UNIVERSE, which is the promotion’s fan club (also for DDT and one of two for Pro Wrestling NOAH) as well as subscription streaming service. Most of today’s card will not be announced in advance with one exception-the annual fan-favorite “Costume Change” match will be held today which will consist on paper of Mizuki, Suzume, Pom Harajuku & Yoshioko Hasegawa vs. Wakana Uehara, HIMAWARI, Toga & Haru Kazashiro. It’s gonna be wacky and fun if just because of Pom who is at her comedy best in matches like this.

It has also been announced that Mifu Ashida will miss this event. Scheduling conflicts.

Today’s event will be held at Kitazawa Town Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary. There will be 6 matches total so the event probably will be a standard house show running just under 2 hours.

(UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 258, a super full house/very near sellout)

Even ring announcer Sayuri Namba is getting in on the costume change theme today as she came out dressed as a Chinese woman instead of her usual Final Fantasy-themed outfit.

The matches are announced after the Up Up Girls performance. The costume change match announced before is the main event.

Result: Kira Summer beat Ivy Steele. Comedy match with both dressed up and repping their native homelands-Steele from the UK and Summer from Australia with a stuffed Koala bear and dressed like an Australian wildlife explorer.

Match 3: Hyper Misao, Mahiro Kiryu & Moka Miyamoto (all dressed like Misao with the masks too) vs. Raku, Yuki Aino & Neko Haruna (Aino & Haruna were masked and not in their usual outfits). 20 minute time limit
Result: Hyper Misao, Mahiro Kiryu & Moka Miyamoto beat Raku, Yuki Aino & Neko Haruna. Misao pinned Haruna with La Magistral. At some point Raku disappeared and was replaced by a mystery woman dressed as a skeleton in a hoodie, which most definitely was not Raku.

Match 4: Miu Watanabe & Uta Takami vs. Miyu Yamashita & Arisu Endo. 20 minute time limit
Result: Miu Watanabe & Uta Takami beat Miyu Yamashita & Arisu Endo. Apparently the match somehow involved trivia questions being answered correctly to win (I was split-streaming another event so I didn’t have audio on)

Match 5: Shino Suzuki vs. Kaya Toribami, Maki Itoh, Rika Tatsumi & SHoko Nakajima in a 5-way. Apparently an elimination match but also a comedy match. Also changing rules after each elimination
Result: Not even gonna try to explain because I couldn’t understand but apparently itoh & Toribami won.

Main Event: Mizuki, Suzume, Pom Harajuku & Yoshioko Hasegawa vs. Wakana Uehara, HIMAWARI, Toga & Haru Kazashiro in a Costume Change match. 20 minute time limit. Change-wise, Toga was dressed as Neko Haruna, Kazashiro was Hyper Misao, HIMAWARI was Shoko Nakajima, Uehara was Miyu Yamashita. On the other side, they were all Up Up Girls.Mizuki was Suzuki, Harajuku was Takami, Hasegawa was Watanabe, Suzume was (a somewhat convincing and pretty good) Raku.
Result: Mizuki, Suzume, Pom Harajuku & Yoshiko Hasegawa beat Wakana Uehara, HIMAWARI, Toga & Haru Kazashiro. Mizuki pinned Kazashiro with Cutie Special. Comedy match of course, although one has to admit Toga was not the most convincing Neko Haruna, if only because the real Haruna is much bigger.

The next event is TJPW LIVE in Las Vegas Friday at the Pearl Theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Live streaming exclusively on TrillerTV/FITE with a Triller+ subscription ($7.99/month or $71.99/year, a 1 week free trial is available for new subscribers) will begin at 11 AM PT/2 PM ET. It may be on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date, but it will probably be a few weeks or even a couple months later. Stardom ran the second half of their Nagoya doubleheader today, the 3rd of 4 events in 4 days.

There were several last-minute changes to the card again due to Mei Seira (again) and Suzu Suzuki being removed from the event. The always vague poor health.

New Japan Pro Wrestling “Windy City Riot” 2025 LIVE Results (4/11/25) (Updated)

New Japan is back in the US today for one of their annual spring events, Windy City Riot. Today is significant because, barring a change of plans, it’s the last time Hiroshi Tanahashi will compete in the US before his retirement at Tokyo Dome in January. In what is expected to be his final US match, he will face Konosuke Takeshita and, although Takeshita is still NEVER Openweight Champion, this will be a NON-TITLE match. There are 3 big title matches planned though-first up, STRONG Tag Team Champions Jorel Nelson & Royce Isaacs defend the titles against KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight, the latter recently confirming he is still signed with New Japan after signing with All Elite Wrestling recently (multiple contracts much like Takeshita has). In the second match, STRONG Openweight Champion Gabriel Kidd defends again vs. Tomohiro Ishii following their INSTANT CLASSIC draw in January (and I was lucky enough to be there!), but this time it’s an Iron Man Match and, if it’s a draw again, sudden death with no time limit-there must be a winner this time. Finally, after his latest successful defense at SAKURA GENESIS last weekend, IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Hirooki Goto will defend the title against Shota Umino. Whoever wins could be coming back to the US next month as champion for a title defense. Additionally, the next challenger for STRONG Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone on 5/9 will be determined in a match between Mina Shirakawa & AZM. Shirakawa just left Stardom for, presumable, AEW so we’ll see if that factors into the outcome.

Today’s event will be held at WinTrust Arena in Chicago, IL and can be watched LIVE on New Japan World as a PPV in Japanese & English (no freebie for monthly paid subscribers this time-everyone has to pay. But a monthly paid subscription IS NOT required to purchase the PPV) for $19.99 outside Japan and 2999 Japanese yen in Japan (which given recent stock market turmoil may actually be more than $20 US). Purchase includes unlimited on demand viewing until 5/31/25. It will likely be available without additional purchase for subscriberes on or after 6/1/25. No Triller/FITE option this time. There will be a pre-show match 30 minutes before the event. Including the pre-show I anticipate this event, with 8 matches total and only one or two likely to go more than 30 minutes, having a total running time of around 3 1/2 hours.

The last ticket sale estimate I have is from when I launched the live stream at 4 PM PT/7 PM ET and that was (via Ticketmaster sales) 4418 with a setup for about 4550 so it could be a legit sellout (the venue’s maximum capacity is just over 10,000) So whether or not they sell out will depend on walk-ups but based on this I’m going to go with them getting very close and predicting 4500. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 4674, a full house/near sellout. That would suggest the actual setup was for closer to 5000)

Pre-show match: Zane Jay vs. CJ Tino. 20 minute time limit
Result: Zane Jay beat CJ Tino by submission. Afterwards, Jay with microphone. He put Tino over then announced he was giving up the “STRONG Survivor” title because he has been training at the NJPW Dojo in Japan the last 3 months and he is going back over there to focus on making his Japan debut in the promotion. Someone else from the NJPW Academy can now take the unofficial title which is contested for on US pre-show matches. I saw Jay beat longtime “Survivor” Matt Vandagriff in January in person. He has a lot of potential.

Result: Tomohiro Ishii beat STRONG Openweight Champion Gabriel Kidd to win the title. Ishii becomes the 8th STRONG Openweight Champion. Another Classic Hoss Fight.

Match 5: Rocky Romero & El Phantasmo vs. Tetsuya Naito & Titan. 30 minute time limit
Result: Tetsuya Naito & Titan beat Rocky Romero & El Phantasmo. Titan pinned Romero after a diving foot stomp.

Match 6: Zack Sabre Jr. vs. David Finlay. 30 minute time limit
Result: Zack Sabre Jr. beat David Finlay. Right before the end there was a potential botched finish where it appeared and sounded like the ref counted 3 on a Sabre pinfall attempt but then signaled 2.

Match 7: IWGP World Heavyweight Champion HIrooki Goto vs. Shota Umino for the title. 1 Hour time limit (this was supposed to have been the main event. Turns out it’s now double main event)
Result: IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Hirooki Goto beat Shota Umino to retain the title. V4 for Goto. Next up: TBA but it may be at WRESTLING DONTAKU on 5/3 & 5/4 in Fukuoka, but whoever is champion will be defending in the US on 5/9.

Main Event: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Konosuke Takeshita. 30 minute time limit
Result: Konosuke Takeshita beat Hiroshi Tanahashi. Takeshita showed Tanahashi respect before leaving, but as soon as he left the ring El Phantasmo was there to confront him and perhaps make a NEVER Openweight Championship challenge. After he left, several of the wrestlers gathered and rallied around the ring in support of Tanahashi. Cameras also caught Zack Sabre Jr. watching alongside some fans. Tanahashi with microphone. He thanked the fans in English for coming and although retiring as wrestler he vowed as President to make NJPW number 1 in the world. He finished by leading the crowd in his Japanese fist-raising shout to close the event. But he made sure to stop for lots of selfies and well-wishes among front row fans to do what he always has done best-send the crowd home happy.

The next US event will be Resurgence on 5/9 in Ontario, CA. I will miss the event due to being in Japan at the time.

UPDATE: Regarding the double countout and how it will affect the STRONG Women’s Championship match on 5/9…it’s now official-it will be a 3-way. Mone vs. Shirakawa and AZM for the title, first fall wins.

Stardom continued their 4-day run of events today with the first half of a Nagoya doubleheader.

There were several last-minute changes due to Mei Seira being pulled off the card. The always-vague poor health.

Match 1: Yuna Mizumori, Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara beat Rina, Azusa Inaba & Fukigen. Kurara pinned Fukigen after Tokomeki Spear.

Match 2: Lady C & Akira Kurogame beat Waka Tsukyama & Rian. C pinned Rian after a chokeslam.

Match 3: Suzu Suzuki & Yuria Hime beat Starlight Kid & Miyu Amasaki. Suzuki pinned Amasaki with a German suplex hold.

Match 4: HANAKO beat Tabata (CMLL).

Match 5: Natsuko Tora, Konami & Ruaka beat Tam Nakano (Independent/Freelancer), Natsupoi & Saori Anou. Tora pinned Nakano after a swanton bomb.

Match 6; Saya Kamitani beat Maika & Saya Iida in a 3-way by pinning Iida.

Today’s event was held at Niigata City Gym in Niigata and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

Match 1: Masa Kitamiya, Eita & Bryce Hansen beat HAYATA, Hitoshi Kumano & Daiki Odashima. Kitamiya pinned Odashima after Saito Suplex.

Match 2: Shuhei Taniguchi beat Mohammed Yone& Black Menso-re in a 3-way by pinning Menso-re.

Match 3: Jun Masaoka, Gaia Hox & Yuya Susumu beat AMAKUSA, Junta Miyawaki & Atsushi Kotoge. Masaoka pinned Miyawaki after F-Drive 2.

Match 4: Saxon Huxley beat Knull.

UPDATE: The first challenger for Galeno has been announced: Saxon Huxley. That match will happen on 5/3 at Ryogoku Kokugikan on Tokyo. It sucks that my arrival in Tokyo that day ahead of a cruise will be in the ecening Japan time otherwise I may have been able to attend the event! (Probably not getting out of the airport until 7-8 PM, event starts at 3 PM and it prob would have taken me at least an hour to get to Ryogoku anyway plus I’m staying in Shinagawa)
