Tokyo Joshi Pro continued the Tokyo Princess Cup today with the Quarterfinals.

Today’s event was held at Shinagawa Grand Hall in Tokyo and cam be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 384, a super full house/very near sellout.

Match 1: Kaya Toribami beat Ren Konatdu.

Match 2: Ivy Steele Farewell Match: Toga & Chika Nanase beat Kira Summer & Ivy Steele. Toga pinned Steele after Rock Bottom. Steele is returning home to the UK to continue college after completing a one-year study abroad program in Japan. Based on post-match comments, she may be back someday. Hopefully so because I really like her.

Match 3: Yuki Kamifuku beat Pom Harajuku & HIMAWARI in a 3-way by pinning Harajuku.

Match 4: Hyper Misao, Yuki Aino & Mahiro Kiryu beat Suzume, Shino Suzuki & Uta Takami. Aino pinned Takami after Venus DDT.

Match 5: Maki Itoh & Raku beat Rika Fatsumi & Mifu Ashida. Itoh beat Ashida with Itoh Deluxe.

Tokyo Princess Cup Quarterfinals:
Match 6: Miu Watanabe beat Haru Kazashiro.
Match 7: Yuki Arai beat Wakana Uehara by submission.
Match 8: Arisu Endo beat Miyu Yamashita.
Main Event: Shoko Nakajima beat Mizuki. This virtually guarantees Mizuki defending the Princess Of Princess Championship against the tournament winner at WRESTLE PRINCESS 6. After the match, Nakajima called Steele back out to give her a proper farewell.

Afterwards, a drawing was held to reshuffle the Semifinals pairings. As a result, the Semifinals will be Nakajima vs. Watanabe and Arai vs. Endo. Had the bracket been unchanged as planned, we would’ve had Arai-Nakajima & Endo-Watanabe.

The Semifinals are on 8/17 at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin on 8/16 at 8:30 PM PT/11:30 PM ET.

Also, as of 8/13 last week’s Hyper Misao Produced event is now available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 8/5/25 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro held another Hyper Misao Produced event today in Tokyo, a continuation of sorts of her third “HYPE” event a couple months ago.

Today’s event was held at Kitazawa Town Hall in Tokyo and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date. There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 128.

This was more a theater-style event as it started with an unmasked Hyper Misao being attacked by someone mysterious, and her body is swapped with Yuki Aino’s.

Act 2: The Tokyo Joshi Pro Academy with students played by Pom Harajuku & Miu Watanabe and professor played by Yuki Kamifuku aims to protect Earth in the year 20XX. 2 aliens arrive as male transfer students.

Act 3: The student disciplinary committee, played by Suzume, Raku & Haru Kazashiro, appears and takes objection to Aino’s appearance but Aino is helped out someone she bumped in to on the road outside, played by Toga. They eventually get recruited by the student council, played by Shoko Nakajima, Shino Suzuki & Mahiro Kiryu.

Act 4: The aliens take over the disciplinary committee.

Act 5: Toga & Rika-sensei, played by Rika Tatsumi, are taken over by the aliens and fight against the student council.

Act 6: One of the alien’s identity is revealed as Princess Ura, who has come to conquer Earth.

Intermission.

Act 7: The council manages to repel Princess Ura and protect Earth, thanks to help from Aino.

Act 8: Flashback to Misao heading to the venue and running into Aino, the former having no apparent clue of everything that transpired.

Act 9: Princess Ura is revealed to be…DDT wrestler Danshoku Dieno. Aino doesn’t want to fight, but is finally talked into it. Which led to…
Main Event: Danshoku Dieno beat Yuki Aino.

After the match, the final act played out and ended the story…or did it?

The next event is Saturday at Shinagawa Grand Hall in Tokyo to continue the Tokyo Princess Cup with the Quarterfinals. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Friday at 9 PM PT/midnight ET.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 8/2/25 LIVE Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro continues the Tokyo Princess Cup today in Shizuoka with the second half of Round 1. This will be a placeholder for results and will be updates when possible.

Today’s event will be held at Act City Hamamatsu in Shizuoka and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Monday. There will be no live broadcast, but there is a chance they will try to stream live FOR FREE on YouTube using an iPad but that depends on network conditions at the venue. Waiting on updates as to whether this will happen.

There has been a last-minute change to today’s card just before this was posted as Maki Itoh is now off. The always-vague poor health. She was to have teamed with Kira Summer, Chika Nanase & Ivy Steele to face Miu Watanabe, Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku. Watanabe is the replacement and it will now be a handicap match of Aino/Raku/Harajuku vs. Watanabe/Summer/Nanase/Steele. She also has been added to 8/23 because while she was supposed to be on an international excursion that means she would not be in the Tokyo Princess Cup, she cancelled and won’t be going. On 8/23 she will face TBA, which will be one of the wrestlers already eliminated from the tournament so it could be any of the 14 that don’t make the Finals.

Today’s current lineup (match order TBA):
Suzume & Ren Konatsu vs. Shino Suzuki & Uta Takami
Mizuki, Kakeru Sekiguchi, Mahiro Kiryu & Kaya Toribami vs. Miyu Yamashita, Wakana Uehara, Toga & Mifu Ashida
Miu Watanabe, Kira Summer, Chika Nanase & Ivy Steele vs. Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku in a handicap match
Tokyo Princess Cup:
HIMAWARI vs. Haru Kazashiro
Arisu Endo vs. Hyper Misao
Rika Tatsumi vs. Shoko Nakajima
Yuki Arai vs. Yuki Kamifuku

The event will begin at 8 PM PT/11 PM ET. I anticipate being able to start posting updates with results roughly 30 minutes after the event begins.

7:40 PM PT UPDATE: You will be able to watch the event LIVE FOR FREE on YouTube. Live stream only, no archived replay. Quality may vary and it’s scheduled to begin at the first match. As long as it holds up I will do live results. If you miss it live or there are problems preventing the stream from happening, on demand will be available on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Monday at 1 AM PT/4 AM ET.

8 PM PT UPDATE: The live stream was taken down at scheduled start time. It may be back in 10-15 minutes as it sounds like “first match” means after opening announcements and Up Up Girls.

8:03 PM PT UPDATE: It’s back up so…Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Act City Hamamtsu in Shizuoka, Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. The initial setup per TJPW’s website was for around 250 and what I can see is full although tickets were still available today. If that setup holds I’ll predict it’ll be around 200. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 288)

Up Up Girls starting as I join the live stream. Since it’s an iPad it will be a fixed camera view from about 5 rows back but initially the stream quality is very good. But once matches get going and the ring moves a lot it may lose focus briefly at times, it’s happened a few times already during Up Up Girls.

The matches begin at 8:13 PM PT/11:13 PM ET. Match order is mostly as above except the handicap match is 2nd, tag match is 3rd, for the tournament matches Tatsumi-Nakajima is the main event and Arai-Kamifuku will be 6th.

Match 1: Suzume & Ren Konatsu vs. Shino Suzuki & Uta Takami. 20 minute time limit
Result: Shino Suzuki & Uta Takami beat Suzume & Ren Konatsu. Suzuki pinned Konatsu after a belly-to-belly suplex.

Match 2: Miu Watanabe, Kira Summer, Chika Nanase & Ivy Steele vs. Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku in a handicap match. 20 minute time limit
Result: Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku beat Miu Watanabe, Kira Summer, Chika Nanase & Ivy Steele. Aino pinned Steele after Venus DDT.

Match 3: Mizuki, Kakeru Sekiguchi (Independent/Freelancer), Mahiro Kiryu & Kaya Toribami vs. Miyu Yamashita, Wakana Uehara, Toga & Mifu Ashida. 20 minute time limit
Result: Mizuki, Kakeru Sekiguchi, Mahiro Kiryu & Kaya Toribami beat Miyu Yamashita, Wakana Uehara, Toga & Mifu Ashida. Mizuki beat Ashida with a crossface. Of note: Today is Ashida’s birthday so they sang for her early in the match.

Tokyo Princess Cup Round 1:
Match 4: HIMAWARI vs. Haru Kazashiro. No time limit
Result: Haru Kazashiro beat HIMAWARI. As a result, Kazashiro advances to the Quarterfinals and will face Miu Watanabe.

Match 5: Arisu Endo vs. Hyper Misao. No time limit
Result: Arisu Endo beat Hyper Misao. As a result, Endo advances to the Quarterfinals and will face Miyu Yamashita.

Match 6: Yuki Arai vs. Yuki Kamifuku. No time limit
Result: Yuki Arai beat Yuki Kamifuku. As a result, Arai advances to the Quarterfinals and will face Wakana Uehara.

Main Event: Rika Tatsumi vs. Shoko Nakajima. No time limit
Result: Shoko Nakajima beat Rika Tatsumi. As a result, Nakajima advances ot the Quarterfinals and will face Mizuki.

The Quarterfinals are 8/9 at Shinagawa Grand Hall in Tokyo.

For being a somewhat impromptu attempt at livestreaming the event on an iPad via YouTube, it went fairly well. For me there was only one brief instance of buffering/freezing and that came in the main event (I was watching in 1080p HD), it was only a fixed view so a few outside-the-ring spots on either side were missed (again one in the main event too) but to be able to get an event like this live when it was going to be on demand only, I’m not complaining. Thumbs up for the effort, I’d rate is an 8 out of 10. If you missed it live, it’ll be available on demand Monday.

The next event is a(nother) Hyper Misao Produced event Tuesday at Kitazawa Town Hall in Tokyo. There will be no live broadcast.

Injury Report: Very Sick Princess

After she missed Sunday’s event due yo the always-vague poor health, Tokyo Joshi Pro announced an update on Moka Miyamoto today, and it’s not good. Unspecified disease requiring treatment. Out indefinitely. No word yet on how long that will be or what this means for the International Princess Championship. Or more concerningly what the disease is.

More as it becomes available.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 7/27/25 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro kicked off the annual Tokyo Princess Cup today, the annual single tournament for all the promotion’s wrestlers. Today started the main bracket of 16 after qualifiers narrowed the 8 non-qualifiers so far down to 4.

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 281.

There was a last-minute change to the card because Moka Miyamoto was a late removal from the event. The always-vague poor health. She was to have faced Miyu Yamashita in a Round 1 match. As a result, Yamashita wins by forfeit and advances.

Match 1: Kira Summer, Chika Nanase, Uta Takami & Ivy Steele beat Kaya Toribami, Toga, Shino Suzuki & Ren Konatsu. Steele pinned Konatsu after a pumphandle slam.

Match 2: Miyu Yamashita & Mahiro Kiryu beat Maki Itoh & Pom Harajuku. Yamashita pinned Harajuku after Attitude Adjustment.

Match 3: Rika Tatsumi, Yuki Kamifuku, Arisu Endo & HIMAWARI beat Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao, Yuki Arai & Haru Kazashiro. Tatsumi pinned Kazashiro after Twist Of Fate.

Tokyo Princess Cup:
Match 4: Wakana Uehara beat Suzume. As a result, Uehara advances to the Quarterfinals.
Match 5: Miu Watanabe beat Raku. As a result, Watanabe advances to the Quarterfinals.
Main Event: Mizuki beat Yuki Aino. As a result, Mizuki advances to the Quarterfinals.
Miyu Yamashita beat Moka Miyamoto by forfeit. As a result, Yamashita advances to the Quartefinals.
Today’s winners will face the winners of matches on 8/2. Watanabe will face HIMAWARI or Haru Kazashiro. Yamashita will face Arisu Endo or Hyper Misao. Mizuki will face Shoko Nakajima or Rika Tatsumi. Uehara will face Yuki Kamifuku or Yuki Arai.

The next event is Saturday at Act City Hamamatsu in Shizuoka. There will be no live broadcast. On demand Monday.

It was also announced that Ivy Steele will be leaving the promotion after the 8/9 event. She is returning home to the UK upon conclusion of a study-abroad program to Japan after one year to continue her studies at her home university. This was her own decision. Therefore her TJPW participation will end after about 8 months.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 7/21/25 Results

SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25, Tokyo Joshi Pro’s annual July blowout event, is in the books.

Today’s event was held at Ota City General Gym and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. Former DDT wrestler Saki Akai returned to the promotion for the first time in 2 years as a guest on commentary along with former figure skater-turned-sportscaster/entertainment personality Mai Asada. This was also a live ABEMA broadcast in Japan.

The announced paid attendance was 1384.

Match 1: HIMAWARI & Ren Konatsu beat Shino Suzuki & Uta Takami. HIMAWARI pinned Takami after Sun Flower Tempest.

Match 2: Andreza Giant Panda & Raku beat Kyoko Inoue (Diana) & Pom Harajuku. Panda pinned Harajuku after Andreza Press. Inoue was a late replacement for the absent Max The Impaler, who could not travel to Japan due to unspecified health issues.

Match 3: Wakana Uehara, Toga, Mifu Ashida & Kira Summer beat Yuna Manase (Ganbare Pro), Mahiro Kiryu, Kaya Toribami & Chika Nanase. Uehara beat Nanase with Banana Pillow.

Match 4: Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro beat Yuki Kamifuku & Veny (Independent/Freelancer) and Arisu Endo & Jada Stone in a 3-way when Aino pinned Endo.

Match 5: Chris Brookes (DDT) & Emi Sakura (All Elite Wrestling) beat El Desperado (New Japan) & Maki Itoh. Sakura pinned Itoh after Queen’s Gambit.

Match 6: Miyu Yamashita beat Billie Starkz (All Elite Wrestling).

Match 7: Moka Miyamoto beat International Princess Champion Suzume to win the title. Miyamoto becomes the 14th International Princess Champion. Suzume must settle for sharing the successful defenses record of 6 with Yuki Arai now, and I can stop rooting against Suzume as I did only because she beat Arai to win the title (Arai still holds the longest reign record at 1 year). And good for Miyamoto who has shown a lot of improvement over the last couple years since she fought against-and later teamed with-Arai.

Match 8: Princess Tag Team Champions Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao beat Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe to retain the titles. Nakajima pinned Watanabe after a diving senton. V3 for the champs.

Main Event: Princess Of Princess Champion Mizuki beat Yuki Arai to retain the title.V3 for Mizuki. To say I was very UNHAPPY UNHAPPY with this is a massive understatement. I can’t put my feelings in polite terms. Next up: The Tokyo Princess Cup winner, unless it’s-heaven forbid-Mizuki. But this means Arai could get a second chance very soon, which would make me very happy.

Next up is the Tokyo Princess Cup, the promotion’s annual single tournament, starting Sunday at Shinjuku Face. This is a single-elimination bracket-style tournament with a field of 16. However, after they get to the Semifinals they’ll re-draw the pairings, but that still means Arai could get another shot at Mizuki in the Semifinals or Finals (first she has to beat Kamifuku then Uehara or Suzume). Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET.

Akai has been keeping busy since leaving DDT & Tokyo Joshi Pro between her new front office job in DDT, her beauty salon/spa and, over the past year, as an actress in various stage performances. She has gotten widespread praise from theatergoers and fellow wrestlers for her appearances in theater performances based on the video games “Final Fantasy 7” and “NIKKE”, the latter of which just completed its run in Japan earlier this week (albeit under apparent unexpected circumstances).
